Neal’s Lit Word
Title: “Stay with Me”
Scripture: Psalm 18:6 and 17
In my distress I called upon the Lord, and cried to my God for help; He heard my voice out of His temple, and my cry for help before Him came into His ears.
He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from those who hated me, for they were too mighty for me.
Observation: What is God saying to me?
When you sincerely cry out to me I hear your cry. When your desire for help is brought before my ears I do not ignore you. Your call causes Me to move on your behalf. I lift you out of the pit, out of the overwhelming waves, out of your stress and struggle and set you on dry ground. Your desire for obedience is rewarded with My rescue. I rescue you so that you can rescue others. I show you the way, so you can show others who are in distress My way. When you cry out to Me, I lift you out of your struggle and give you strength to fight the battle. Stay with Me, and show others who I am so they can stay with Me too.
Application: What will I do about it?
Cry out to the Lord today from a place of sincerity. I am not looking for perfection, I am looking for a sincere desire to be rescued. Your sincerity will set your feet upon a rock and cause a shield of protection to guard you.
Prayer:
Holy Spirit, we cry to You from the depths of overwhelm, lift us up to dry ground and cause us to sing your praises with sincere hearts. In Jesus name. Amen
I Am Grateful For… my God who hears me cry.
