Neal’s Lit Word
Title: “Remain with Me”
Scripture: Matthew 15:32
And Jesus called His disciples to Him, and said, “I feel compassion for the multitude, because they have remained with Me now for three days and have nothing to eat; I do not wish to send them away hungry, lest they faint on the way.”
Observation: What is God saying to me?
I have compassion for those who want to be with Me. The desire to be with Me moves Me, but I am moved even more by those who sacrifice their own comforts to be with Me. When you “remain with Me” through hunger, longing to hear My words and learn from Me, I am moved in compassion to provide for you. Wisdom is found in the one who sits with Me, hanging onto My words, longing to hear the sounds of heaven.
Application: What will I do about it?
More than anything else, remain with Jesus through the Holy Spirit. Allow the Spirit to strip you down to this reality, I don’t want anything else, I don’t need anything else. You Jesus, are my “One Thing.” Prove it with your time, energy, talents and treasure. Give Him the first and the best of everything you do.
Prayer:
Holy Spirit, continue to elevate your excellence in my sight. I want more of You. I need more of You. In You, all things are possible, apart from You I can do nothing. Jesus I love You!
I Am Grateful For… My provider, God, who has compassion on Me as I prioritize spending time with Him.
