Title: “Divine Hide and Seek”

Scripture: Proverbs 25:2

It is the glory of God to conceal a matter,
but the glory of kings to search out a matter.

Observation: What is God saying to me?

Some things are plain and easy to see but the Lord hides many things and only allows them to be seen through a process of searching, seeking and discovery. To DIS-cover means to UN-cover something that has BEEN-covered. The Lord hides His best treasures in hopes that someone will seek them out. It’s like a game of “Divine Hide and Seek.” The Lord of the heavens and the earth hides a treasure and then encourages us to seek it out and discover things that ordinary non-seeking people could never find.

Application: What will I do about it?

Instead of being frustrated in the process of seeking the treasure we should get excited and seek more diligently. As this passage says, “it's the glory of kings to search it out.” This means that it is a privilege to be in the hunt. A mentality of “ spiritual entitlement” would be frustrated with God and say, “Hurry up God, give me the answers.” A mentality of “spiritual maturity” would say, “Thank You God for allowing me to be in the chase, I know the treasure is right around the corner.” Today I choose to walk in a mentality of Spiritual Maturity and enjoy the hunting process.

Prayer:

Holy Spirit, thank You for allowing me to be in the hunt. Thank You for not letting it be easy all of the time. Like a good father, You know how much to hide and how much to reveal. I trust the process. In Jesus Name! Amen!
