Title: “Embrace the Grace”

Scripture: Lamentations 3:19-26, 40-41

21 This I recall to my mind, therefore I have hope.

22 The Lord’s lovingkindnesses indeed never cease, for His compassions never fail.

23 They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.

24 “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “Therefore I have hope in Him.”

25 The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, to the one who seeks Him.

40 Let us examine and probe our ways, and let us return to the Lord.
41 We lift up our heart and hands toward God in heaven;

Observation: What is God saying to me?

Though you have been afflicted with hard times, struggle and pain My love for you does not change. I love you with an everlasting love and that will never end. Your pain will point the way back to Me. Your struggle with sin will guide you back home because it hurts to walk away from Me. Do not despise the correction, instead embrace the grace that comes to you when you recognize how lost you are without Me. I am the Way, I am the truth, I am the life, no one makes it to heaven apart from Me.

Application: What will I do about it?

As it says in Lamentations 3:41, “I will lift up my heart and hands toward God in heaven.” I will cry out for His mercy and enjoy His grace. I will place all hope in Him and not my own strength or understanding. I will teach others to do the same!

Prayer:

Lord Jesus, we are so grateful for your mercy and grace that comes in the middle of struggle, wrestling and pain. With gratitude we lift up our hearts and hands to You today. You have changed our lives for eternity and we are your servants forever. Amen!
