Neal’s Lit Word
Title: “Carpe Diem”
Scripture: Proverbs 27:1
Never brag about the plans you have for tomorrow,
for you don’t have a clue what tomorrow may bring to you.
Observation: What is God saying to me?
For too often you are chasing a dream rather than living “the dream.”
Sometimes you are so focused on where you are going, you miss the opportunities that are right in front of your face. In the same way, sometimes you are so focused on what you don’t have that you miss the enjoyment and opportunity of what you do have. You spend your days chasing something that will gain tomorrow and miss what you have today.
Application: What will I do about it?
Years ago we had sweatshirts made after a tragedy took place in our family. The words “Carpe Diem” were written on the shirts. That means “Seize the Day.” All we are guaranteed is right now. We need to do better at making the current moment count instead of living today in tomorrow's problems or accomplishments.
Prayer:
Holy Spirit, You are our ever present Helper in time of need. Well Lord, we need you now! Reset our minds, hearts, methods and mission to fully align with what You are doing in the present moment. We don’t want to miss a thing. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
I Am Grateful For… the ever present helper and ability to live in the moment with Him and the ones I love.
