Title: “Point and Pluck it Out”

Scripture: Proverbs 27:4-6

4 Wrath is fierce and anger is a flood, but who can stand before jealousy?
5 Better is open rebuke than love that is concealed.
6 Faithful are the wounds of a friend, but deceitful are the kisses of an enemy.

Observation: What is God saying to me?

Jealousy is a powerful anti-spirit to what My Spirit desires.
When jealousy is rampant, all kinds of evil follow it.
Gossip, deceitfulness, bitterness, backstabbing and backbiting follow closely behind jealousy. A critical spirit comes with a jealous spirit, one that says, “That’s not how I would do it. If I were in charge or had what they have I would do it totally differently.” Eliminate jealousy and develop an open, honest and transparent culture around you. Once that honors openness and allows for honesty with the humility to change when we hear the truth in love.

Application: What will I do about it?

▶️ Check our hearts for symptoms of jealousy.
➡️ Test our hearts by creating an honest, open, loving and truthful culture.
⏭️ Eliminate the fruits of jealousy by inviting the Holy Spirit to point it out and pluck it out from among us.

Prayer:

Holy Spirit, You know each of our hearts perfectly. We are open to Your correction, we want to be in Your will. We are open to Your correction and will walk in repentance when you point out problem areas, in Jesus’ Name.

I Am Grateful For… the gentleness of the Spirit to point and pluck it out.
