Neal’s Lit Word

Title: “Spur Up”

Scripture: Hebrews 10:24,25

Let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; all the more, as you see the day drawing near.

Observation: What is God saying to me?

Love and good deeds is the mark of someone who truly is walking with God. Good deeds without love aren't God. Good deeds are always good, they just aren’t God if they aren’t coupled with love.

The people you spend the majority of your time with either spur you in the right or wrong direction. One reason we need to keep the company of people who are following God is to stimulate one another to both love and good deeds.

Application: What will I do about it?

Continue to spur people toward truly following Jesus in love and deed and add more intentionality to these gatherings. Also I will increase the types of gatherings that I host and facilitate in order to spur dedicated followers even more intentionally.

Prayer:

Jesus, give me wisdom to implement what You have shown me. Anything that is not from You is not something I want to waste time on. Shine clear light on what is from You so that I can do what these passages say. Amen!

I Am Grateful For… the people I have around me that spur me and that I am able to spur.
