Neal’s Lit Word
Title: “Long Game”
Scripture: Hebrews 11:25
By faith, Moses refused to be grouped with the Egyptians and rather chose to endure ill treatment with the people of God (Israel) rather than enjoy the passing pleasures of sin.
Observation: What is God saying to me?
The pleasure of sin is passing. Some chose to enjoy the temporary pleasures rather than play the long game. Deferred pleasure is always better than immediate gratification.
Application: What will I do about it?
Play the long game. In the end you will enjoy the reward. In the immediate you may miss a few “passing pleasures”… but the delay is worth the wait!
The passing pleasures of sin never end with a good result. A self pleasing temporary fix is not worth the consequences.
Prayer:
Lord, help us to be people like Moses who refuse to be grouped with anyone who disdains or hates you. Help us to choose true life rather than temporary pleasure and success. In Jesus’ Name, Amen!
I Am Grateful For… the Long Game
