Title: “Divinely Directed”

Scripture: James 3:4

Look at the ships, though they are so great and are driven by strong winds, are still directed by a very small rudder, wherever the inclination of the pilot desires.

Observation: What is God saying to me?

Your heart and mouth will direct your life wherever your inclination desires.
My child, you have to watch your inclinations. The ship turns with your mouth. Your life moves with your words. Deal with your heart's inclinations and desires by inviting the Holy Spirit to lead. Yield your life to the Holy Spirit completely and allow the Holy Spirit to purge your heart and mind bringing your will into submission with His will through the blood and sacrifice of Jesus. As Paul said, “I die daily.” Die to the old man and submit to the new regenerated man which is found in the Holy Spirit.

Application: What will I do about it?

The sacrifices of God are a broken and contrite spirit, this God does not turn away. Show up in brokenness and cast your dependence on Him and not your own ability to be good, do good or sound good. Don’t hold yourself together, but rather allow Him to hold you together.

Prayer:

Jesus, only You, the Father and the Spirit can hold me together. We are unable to do it on our own. With You all things are possible. Apart from You we can do nothing. Direct our lives to go in the direction You desire for us. We don’t want to go any other way. Amen!
