Title: "Lessons Learned"
Scripture: Jonah 1:4
And the Lord hurled a great wind on the sea and there was a great storm on the sea so that the ship was about to break up.
Observation: What is God saying to me?
Jonah ran from my call on his life. He knew what I asked him to do and decided to go the opposite direction. He did not trust that My plan was better than his plan and He did not agree with My plan. The result of Jonah’s disobedience was a huge storm and the ship he was sailing on nearly fell apart. Jonah choosing to go the wrong direction caused hardship for every on the ship and had Jonah not repented many would have been affected. My child, do not fight against Me. I know what is best for you and for those around you. Lean into my plan and trust my direction. It will make a world of difference to you and everyone on the boat with you.
Application: What will I do about it?
Let’s keep this really simple. Deep in your heart, is there anything you believe the Lord is calling you to take action on? If so, what is it and what is needed for you to have the courage to take the step he has set before you?
Prayer:
Father God, You only guide in a good direction, help us to fully trust your leading and to learn from Jonah’s lesson. Following your plan is always better than taking our own path. We want what you have for our futures and the lives of those around us. In Jesus Name! Amen!
