Title: “Poison ๐ฎ๐จ or Promise ๐?”
Scripture: Psalm 141:3
Set a guard, O Lord, over my mouth; Keep watch over the door of my lips.
Observation: What is God saying to me?
Your mouth is the exit for your heart. Out of the overflow of your heart your tongue speaks. What you store in the chambers of your heart will eventually exit out of your mouth. Yes, I will set a guard over your mouth and I will watch the door of your lips but the purpose will be to point out what is happening in your heart and to get to the source of your issue. When we treat your heart with care and keep it clean then your mouth will have less issues overflowing with words that are destructive and not helpful. Let’s fix our heart issues. The things we “ponder” in our hearts become the poison or the promise of our lives. Ponder on the promises of God and you will live and speak words of hope.
Application: What will I do about it?
Let’s give our hearts a good cleaning today. Invite the Holy Spirit to point out poisonous things that we are holding in our hearts. When He points it out then pray it out of your heart. That’s not all. Invite the Holy Spirit to plant promises in your heart that you can ponder throughout the day. When He plants the promise, keep it in your mind and share it with your mouth.
Prayer:
Holy Spirit, we worship you! Point out the poison and show us how to pray it out of our hearts. Plant promises in our hearts and teach us how to ponder them so that our mouths can be filled with words of hope. In Jesus Name!
I Am Grateful For… the Lord's help in keeping our hearts clean.
