Neal’s Lit Word

Title: “Loving Correction”

Scripture: Psalm 30:5,11

For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for a lifetime;
Weeping may last for the night, but a shout of joy comes in the morning.
You have turned my mourning to dancing for me.

Observation: What is God saying to me?

I correct you for your health and well-being. When I correct and discipline you I do it as a loving Father wanting what is best for His child. I don’t correct you to harm you, I do it to help you. Though it doesn’t feel great at the moment, correction produces joy, favor and dancing when we receive the correction and learn from it.

Application: What will I do about it?

Commit to being a lifelong learner from the My Holy Spirit. Know that correction when received properly has a great reward. I am always shaping you to look more like Me. Today, be open to what I speak and respond to it with an open heart and mind. Do not close off the moments of correction or discount them as though they are not valuable. Correction is the most valuable gift I give you, with its result being life and peace.

Prayer:

Holy Spirit, I am open to Your voice of loving correction. I want to be more like You and learn from You. I come to You today with openness and expectation for a powerful result. Thank You for joy, favor and dancing. I exchange my mourning and weeping for it. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
