Neal’s Lit Word

Title: “Power Shift”

Scripture: Psalm 34:9-10

O fear the Lord, you His saints; For to those who fear Him, there is no want. The young lions do lack and suffer hunger; But they who seek the Lord shall not be in want of any good thing.

Observation: What is God saying to me?

I am telling you what is good, the way that will lead to life and lacking nothing. Fear the Lord. The young can lack fear because they do not know better. They are naive and think they can accomplish what is needed through strength and speed, but they do know the way. Lack leads to longing, wanting leads to seeking, seeking leads to discovering that the answers are always found with the Lord. Therefore we should fear Him and give credit where it is due.

Application: What will I do about it?

The older I get the easier it is to seek the Lord without the pull of youthful distractions. Like the classic scripture, “Come to Me all who are weary and heavy burdened and I will give you rest,” let’s present our minds, hearts, will and strength to the Lord, abandoning the strength of our own hands.
Apart from you we can do nothing, therefore seeking You is the answer for everything. #SeekFirst

Prayer:

Lord Jesus, I fear what my life would be without Your grace and mercy, therefore I fear You. You hold the decision in your hands. You can do what You please with Your creation. Therefore my heart fears You, but also knows that You are loving and patient to the core.
