Title: “Why Fear the Lord?”

Scripture: Proverbs 9:10

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.

Observation: What is God saying to me?

Why fear? How important is it to recognize where you come from? Satan's first deceptive trick was to cause humans to question who God is and whether or not God's plans were best. We are created by God. No matter what anyone else says or what your own mind thinks about God, He is always true and right. No matter what we think, God's truth stands. In a world that is constantly speaking lies to us about God, we must determine that God is true and everyone who contradicts Him is a liar. Therefore we fear Him.

Application: What will I do about it?

All truth is God’s truth. Anything apart from God is a lie. Anything that comes from God is true. Therefore fear of departure from God is the beginning of wisdom. Fear of being on the wrong side of God is knowledge. Being on the right side of God is the most important concern we have, that is wisdom. Knowing the Holy One, that is the only thing that matters. Not knowing the Holy One is what we should truly fear. #SeekFirst #SeekMost

Prayer:

Jesus, help my desires to no only want to seek you first, but also to seek you most. Aligning with You, being right with You, being on Your side, this is wisdom. Fearing You, pursuing You, knowing You, this is understanding and Knowledge. Help me Lord.
