Neal’s Lit Word
Title: “Higher Ground”
Scripture: Psalm 61:1,2
Hear my cry, O God; Give heed to my prayer. From the end of the earth I call to You, when my heart is faint; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
Observation: What is God saying to me?
I hear your cry when you lift up your voice. I hear your prayer and know what you mean to say even when you do not have the words to say it. I don’t care so much about what you are saying in prayer, I care more about the heart and motivation of why you are saying it. When your motivation is truly selfless, at the end of your rope, humble and ready for My answer, I show up! When you feel like you are at the end of your journey know that I will lift you up and place your feet on higher ground.
Application: What will I do about it?
Yearn from the depths of your heart for living water from Jesus. Give yourself to seeking answers from the Holy Spirit and not wallowing in the fear that this is the end. With God, the end yourself is the beginning of the life of faith you have longed and hoped for.
Prayer:
Jesus, set my feet upon the rock. Lead us Lord to the destiny you have designed for us. From the depth of my heart I cry to you for rescue victory. You are our way, our truth and life. Amen!
