Neal’s Lit Word
Title: “Go Again”
Scripture: Luke 5:4,5
And when He had finished speaking, He said to Simon, “Put out into the deep water and let down your nets for a catch.” And Simon answered and said, “Master, we worked hard all night and caught nothing, but at your bidding I will let down the nets.”
Observation: What is God saying to me?
Though you’ve been working hard and it hasn’t produced the fruit you hoped it would, don’t give up. When I speak all circumstances can change. What has been mundane day in and day out labor can all of the sudden bear fruit in ways you did not expect. When hope for breakthrough starts to turn into drudgery, all of the sudden I can bring the difference. Be willing to move where I speak and do what I say, even if it doesn’t make sense. Things can change without it making any sense to you. Just be willing.
Application: What will I do about it?
I feel like God is calling me to step out into the deep water in order to let down the nets for reaching men. This is a little scary to me for a couple reasons. One, putting myself out there causes me to be out of my comfort zone. Two, I am concerned that I will get distracted from the task at hand.
I will create a tangible plan that is sustainable, I will present this to my crew and I will trust the Lord with the results and ability to sustain my focus and energy.
Prayer:
Jesus, thank You for calling me out of my comfort zone and back to work on something that behind the scenes I have been working on for a long time. Amen!
I Am Grateful For… a push to go out to the deep again.
