Title: “Correspond with Correction”

Scripture: Proverbs 19:1-3

1 Better is a poor man who walks in his integrity
than he who is perverse in speech and is a fool.
2 Also it is not good for a person to be without knowledge,
and he who hurries his footsteps errs.
3 The foolishness of man ruins his way,
and his heart rages against the Lord.

Observation: What is God saying to me?

Integrity and knowledge places a guard over your mouth and slows the pace of your life. Fools run their mouths and their feet into ways of ruin and destruction. Rush and hurry with your feet or your mouth are rarely the way of wisdom. Whether you know it or not, when you rush your feet and run your mouth without integrity and knowledge you are acting a fool.

Proverbs 22:15 Foolishness is bound up in the heart of a child;
The rod of discipline will remove it far from him.

Foolishness is also bound in the heart of many many adults who were not corrected as children and subject themselves to no authority, especially the authority of God.

Application: What will I do about it?

Receive correction for the wisdom it produces. God corrects those He loves and does it for your benefit. Correspond with Correction.

1️⃣ Watch your mouth
2️⃣ Watch your steps
3️⃣ Willingly embrace correction
4️⃣ Walk and talk with wisdom

Receive God’s grace and mercy when you fail, get back up and do it again.

Prayer:

Holy Spirit, we submit to Your correction, surrender to Your way, long for Your love and lean on Your direction. Thank You Lord!
