Title: “Pressure the Pushes”
Scripture: Psalm 118:5
When hard pressed, I cried to the Lord;
He brought me into a spacious place.
Observation: What is God saying to me?
What pressure has been coming in “hard” on you?
When you are hard pressed how do you actually “cry out to the Lord?”
Pressure can come from many directions in your lives. Internal pressure can look like anxiety, anger, depression, fear and much more.
Health pressure can press in hard on you through sickness, diseases, laziness, addictions and obesity.
Financial pressures like paying bills, finding a good job, keeping a business alive and knowing how to manage the money you have when you have bills piling in and costs going up.
People can bring immense pressure to our lives. Relationships experience conflict and many times we don’t know how to handle it.
What does the pressure in your life push you toward? You have two choices, the pressure can either push you toward Me (the Lord) or it can push you away from Me and toward getting answers from other places.
Do not turn toward self dependence when you are hard pressed, rather come to Me. As you cry out to Me in your times of pressure I will lead you into a spacious place and the pressure will lift.
Application: What will I do about it?
Today, let us cry out to the Lord with all of our heart bringing every pressure to Him. Internal spiritual health, physical health, financial pressure and relational pressure should all be brought to Jesus today with voices lifted up and hands raised high. Only God has the answers that lead us to spacious places.
Prayer:
Jesus, thank You for leading us to spacious places, You are the only One who can change the circumstances that are pressing hard on us. Cause the pressure to push us toward You! Amen!
I Am Grateful For… pressure the pushes to Jesus
