Neal’s Lit Word

Title: “Knowing not Knowledge”

Scripture: John 14:1,4,6,17b

“Let not your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me.”
“You know the way where I am going.”
“I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.”
“You know Him (the Father) because He abides with you and will be in You.”

Observation: What is God saying to me?

A troubled and anxious heart is not something you should let happen. The world and your former mindsets want to keep your heart stuck in trouble and fear. That is your former life, if you abide in Me (the Lord). When you live with Me you get to know Me deeply and personally. This knowing is how you fight the trouble, not with human understanding but with Heavenly Knowing. Know Me over everything else. I am not only the Way to heaven but the Way to know heaven on a fallen earth. Submit to a Heavenly Knowing and you will live in Me and I will live in you. I died to make this possible. I rose to make this available. I sent My Spirit to make this doable.

Application: What will I do about it?

Knowing Jesus is different then believing Jesus is God or simply exists. Even the demons believe that. Knowing Jesus is being Jesus’ student, apprentice, follower and friend. Knowing Jesus is personal and intimate. Spend time with Jesus and let Jesus instruct you in the Way. Write down everything He instructs so you do not get lazy, distracted and forget.

Prayer:

Jesus, more than anything, I want to know You. This is true at the depth of my core. Help me tune my ear, train my eyes and guard my heart. This is how I stay on track and follow the Way. Help Lord, Your servant and son are listening. Amen
