Title: “Blinded By the Light”
Scripture: Acts 9:8
[Context] This is the chapter where Saul, the killer of Christians is visited by Jeses, blinded by the light and converted to Christianity. His name was changed from Saul to Paul. Verse 8 is when Paul was prayed for and his eyes were opened after being blinded by the light for a few days.
Annanias prayed for Paul and….
“And immediately there fell from his eyes something like scales, and he regained his sight, and he got up and was baptized;”
Observation: What is God saying to me?
Awakening moments make all the difference! It’s what makes an old man new, a twisted man straight, a blind man see, or a man who thinks they can see blind. Awakenings are fresh starts where I reveal the error of your former ways and allow you to see your desperate need for My guidance. Remember the moment of your awakening, keep it fresh before your eyes and humble yourself to be taught a way that is contrary to your former way of operation. When you come to the end of yourself, you come to the starting point of an awakened life. The man who thinks he knows, doesn’t know as he ought to know. Your ways lead to destruction, My ways lead to reconstruction.
Application: What will I do about it?
Reflect on your awakening moment. Remember the reality of the transformation. Invite God to open your eyes in a fresh way today.
Give Him thanks for the change. I once was blind but now I see.
Prayer:
Jesus, without You we are dead men walking. With You all things are new. Open my eyes once again to the depth of your grace and mercy. I want to walk with You with an open heart.
I Am Grateful For… Blinding light and open eyes.
