Neal’s Lit Word

Title: “The Good Fear”

Scripture: Acts 9:31

So the church throughout the lands of Judea, Galilee and Samaria enjoyed peace, being built up; and going on in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, it continued to increase.

Observation: What is God saying to me?

Saul was a Christian killer who was converted to a disciple maker for Christ. Initially, people didn’t know how to handle this massive change, they didn’t receive Paul because they knew who he used to be and were afraid that he was still the old guy posing as a follower of Jesus.

When they saw that Paul really was changed by God it caused a shift for the church of that time. Peace and enjoyment came when they knew there was safety from this persecution.

That is where I am taking you too. To experience peace, enjoyment and fulfillment in Christ with the church. Rather than fearing people who are against you, fear the Lord.
When you stop fearing what people think about you or what people can do to you and shift your fear to the Lord, you will be liberated to receive comfort, peace and growth from the Holy Spirit.

Application: What will I do about it?

To fear the Lord is wisdom. Why fear? The Lord is the only one with the power to instantly change your life, protect your life and direct your life in the way you should go! People can harm the body, but only the Lord controls our eternity! Through the fear of the Lord our lives are corrected, directed and protected. Release all fear of man and embrace a new reality with a healthy fear of the Lord.

Prayer:

Jesus, You are the One we fear. We release the fear of people and embrace a healthy fear of You Lord. Bring Your comfort, peace and growth to our lives in Your name! Amen!

I Am Grateful For… comfort and expansion through the Holy Spirit
