Title: “Identified Enemies”

Scripture: Acts 12:8-10

8 But Elymas the magician (for so his name is translated) was opposing them, seeking to turn the proconsul away from the faith. 9 But Saul, who was also known as Paul, filled with the Holy Spirit, fixed his gaze on him, 10 and said, “You who are full of all deceit and fraud, you son of the devil, you enemy of all righteousness, will you not cease to make crooked the straight ways of the Lord?

Observation: What is God saying to me?

Sometimes you need to fix your gaze on the “person, place or thing” that is “seeking to turn you away from faith” and speak directly to it. Paul fixed his gaze on Simon, who was leading people astray and addressed the enemy head on.

There are many twisted and wicked distractions that are seeking to detour your faith. The way of the Holy Spirit is straight, the way of the wicked is twisted.

Enemies that seek to lead you and others astray are not always people. Sometimes these enemies can appear through mentalites, attitudes and tendencies as well.

Are there any enemies that are seeking to lead you or your family astray that need to be addressed?

Who or what are they? Get specific with the people, places or things?

How will you address these enemies?

Application: What will I do about it?

Identify the enemies, write them down in your Tracker Journal and make an action plan to speak directly to this distracting enemy spirit.

Prayer:

Holy Spirit, give us insight and wisdom to know what is really going on in the situations of our lives. We don’t want to address the fruit issue, we want to speak to the root issue. Reveal the root and give us wisdom to speak to it, in Jesus’ name! Amen
