Title: "Dawn Breaks Darkness"
Scripture: Psalm 143:3,6,8,10
3 For the enemy has persecuted my soul;
He has crushed my life to the ground;
He has made me dwell in dark places, like those who have long been dead.
6 I stretch out my hands to You;
My soul longs for You, as a parched land.
8 Let me hear Your lovingkindness in the morning;
For I trust in You;
Teach me the way in which I should walk;
For to You I lift up my soul.
10 Teach me to do Your will,
For You are my God;
Let Your good Spirit lead me on level ground.
Observation: What is God saying to me?
Dark places and tough times can lead you to brighter days and open spaces. Where are the dark days driving you? Do they push you deeper into your head or directly to your knees? Do dark days drive you to deeper darkness or to lifting your hands in the air?
When you fall on dark days follow the formula found in this Psalm.
Allow these difficult moments to train you in the art of spiritual warfare.
As your soul longs for brighter days, let the longing lead you to the throne of God. Let trust in God be your response to spiritual struggle. Then His love will rise in your heart like the sun rises at the break of day. Darkness to light, a new morning to fight with hands lifted high and hearts in the sky!
Application: What will I do about it?
Today is a great day to cry out to Jesus from a dry and weary position. As you do this today, physically lift your hands in the air reaching toward your Father in heaven and allow His light to gently shine and lift the countenance of your heart.
Prayer:
Holy Spirit, apart from You we are doomed to darkness but with You every morning is an opportunity to be embraced by grace. Let the Son rise in our hearts today as we look to the One who lifts the darkness and causes light to shine. We need You! Amen
I Am Grateful For… the dawn that breaks the darkness.
