Neal’s Lit Word

Title: “Trained Through Trials”

Scripture: Psalm 3:1,5,6,8

1 O Lord, how my adversaries have increased!
Many are rising up against me.
5 I lay down and slept; I awoke, for the Lord sustains me.
6 I will not be afraid of ten thousand people who have set themselves against me round about.
8 Salvation belongs to the Lord; Thy blessing be upon thy people.

Observation: What is God saying to me?

Have you ever felt the opposition of a mob of people directly against you?
Have you ever felt the helplessness of knowing you were surrounded by enemies with what seems like no way out or around them?
It’s one thing to boast of the salvation of God from a position of comfort, safety and security. It’s a whole different type of cry for help when you are surrounded by people who curse and hate you.

Notice what can be learned through this type of opposition.
1️⃣Your rescue comes through God, not your human greatness
2️⃣Real trust in God is forged when the odds are stacked against you
3️⃣When you learn to trust He sustains you in the midst of war
4️⃣You gain unshakeable confidence (faith) on the other side of war
5️⃣You no longer fear what may happen in the future
6️⃣You know your future is safe in His care

Through this process of crushing you can learn to lean with total confidence on God and not on your own strength. This great lesson will sustain and secure your steps each day. Rest and Trust no matter what the circumstance looks like.

Application: What will I do about it?

Reject fear of what is formed against you.
Allow this circumstance to train you in trust like never before.

Prayer:

Jesus, time and time again you have been faithful. You have walked us through so many circumstances that we had no idea how to navigate. Thank you for training us to trust even though it was hard. You have sustained us through it all. You won’t stop now!

I Am Grateful For… training through trials that formed our trust in the Lord.
