Title: “If I Only Knew” 

Scripture: John 4:10 

Jesus answered and said to her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water. 

Observation: What is God saying to me? 

If you don’t know, now you know! All you have to do is ask. God always wants to give good gifts. He is a good Father who knows how to give good gifts to His children. Simply stated, now you know. Once you meet Jesus you ask Him to fill you with living water. 

Application: What will I do about it?   

Our hearts are the “well spring of life.” That means life flows from inside of us. Life isn’t something that comes from the outside, through circumstances or cool things that happen to us. True life comes from within. This is something only Jesus is able to do. We can spend our time focusing on outside circumstances and events or we can spend our time focusing on the inside where true life comes from. 

The key to having life flow from within is to ask Jesus for life. We must look to Jesus as our source of life, not to money, people, possessions or any other thing. Only Jesus has the ability to pour life, living water, into our internal being. 

Prayer: 

Heavenly Father, though it is very easy to be distracted by external things, today I choose to look inside. I ask You to fill me with living water so that I never thirst again. I ask for deep satisfaction that can only be found in you to fill my heart and transform my mind from being focused on the outside to be filled on the inside. In Jesus Name! Amen. 

I Am Grateful For… an internal source of satisfaction that comes from the Holy Spirit.
