Neal’s Lit Word
Title: “Sub-Mission”
Scripture: Psalm 37:3-5
3 Trust in the Lord and do good;
Dwell in the land and cultivate faithfulness.
4 Delight yourself in the Lord;
And He will give you the desires of your heart.
5 Commit your way to the Lord,
Trust also in Him, and He will do it.
Observation: What is God saying to me?
It’s natural to want to take matters into your own hands, to control the happenings of your life and to make plans to accomplish what is in your heart. Before initiating any plan there is a critical step that must be taken.
Submission is a must. The word submission gets foul reactions from most people initially, we must not allow ourselves to have a foul reaction to this incredible reality. To be “submitted” to Me, the Lord, is anything but negative. Quite the opposite, to operate from “sub-mission” is to set yourself up for ultimate success.
I am the Lord, I know what you were put on earth to do. Going your own way leads to destruction and confusion, being submitted to My way leads to prosperity of life and fruit from My Spirit.
Application: What will I do about it?
First, commit and submit to Me. This is your most critical step. From there you are like a bullet in the chamber. The Lord is the Master Marksman who will put you on target and direct you to the bullseye. Take delight in God. Feed on His faithfulness. Rest and trust for sure, but also move with tenacious ambition toward the target He is directing you to hit.
Prayer:
Holy Spirit, we are willing and ready to be directed by You. Wherever You point us we willingly go. Fire away Lord, we don’t want our way, we want yours. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
I Am Grateful For… lessons in submission. Failure and success and all the lessons from both.
