Title: “Age-Old Foundation”

Scripture: 1 Corinthians 3:11-16

For no man can lay a foundation other than the one which is already laid, that is Jesus Christ.
Whatever each man builds upon the foundation will become evident; for the day will show it, because it will be revealed with fire; and the fire will test the quality of each man’s work.
If any man’s work which he has built remains upon the Foundation he will receive a reward. If any man’s work is burned up, he shall suffer loss; but he himself shall be saved, yet so as through fire.
Do you not know that you are a temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?

Observation: What is God saying to me?

I have given you full access to My Holy Spirit. I choose to live inside you!
How are you doing at keeping the house in order for Me? Is there anything you should be doing to allow Me total access and control within your house which is my temple?

There is no longer time to delay. This is not a season for sitting back and tolerating dysfunction to dwell inside you. I am a sure foundation, set your feet upon This Rock. With your feet firmly rooted in Me, I will show you how to build. You are My apprentice.

An apprentice doesn’t have to know everything to do, an apprentice has to stay connected to the Master Trainer in order to be taught what to do. As I teach you, you will become more and more like Me and will teach others to be as I am and do as I do.

Application: What will I do about it?

Prayer, worship, the Word, fasting, chasing, seeking, knocking, walking and talking are all part of building on the Foundation of Jesus. Like a wise master builder, lean into the tools that release the grace of God in your life and to the world around you.

Prayer:

Jesus, You are my Foundation. In You, I live and move and find my existence. Holy Spirit, dwell richly inside of Me today. More of You, less of me. You must increase, I must decrease. Then life and joy will increase because You are the source of both. Amen.
