Neal’s Lit Word

Title: “Get a Grip!”

Scripture: Isaiah 42:9 & 16

Behold the former things have come to pass, now I declare new things;
Before they spring forth I declare them to you.

I will lead the blind by a way they do not know, in paths they do not know I will guide them. I will make darkness into light before them.

Observation: What is God saying to me?

You would do well not to ignore the harsh corrections of scripture.
Harsh corrections and reality checks are good for people.
When you say you can see but you are actually blind you land in a ditch.
From a helpless position you cry out to Me, Your Father who loves you and I lift you out of the mess. Most people once they get back on the path in earthly arrogance forget that it was Me who helped them out of the mess.

Harsh corrections and My helping hand are the instructors that lead to humble obedience. If you want to stay out of the ditch don’t let go of My hand. Embrace the reality of My love, remember that you are blind without My Spirit and only I can give sight to the blind.

Application: What will I do about it?

Jesus died to heal the broken, to give the blind sight and to set captive prisoners free. Never take credit for what you did not accomplish. Every good and perfect gift comes from the Father above. Everything light and right is found in the hand of the King. Take pleasure in the fact that the King has invited you into His Kingdom and made a way for you to get there. Not by might, not by your power, you only get there by His Spirit.

Prayer:

Holy Spirit, lead us by the hand today. Don’t let go, Lord! We believe Your word and hear You Spirits whisper. “This is the way you should go, walk in it!” Lord, You are the only way we want. You are all we want. We love you!

I Am Grateful For… the hand of the King who shows blind people where to walk and gives rest to the weary.
