Below you’ll find details for the camp trip.

Men, the weekend is here and I’m excited.

There will be a caravan leaving The Square in Wofford Heights at 3:30PM on Friday. For those on the Southlake side of the lake we can meet up in front of Sierra Gateway around 4PM so you can connect with the caravan.

The best route to take is a road called 9 Mile Canyon Road just off of Hwy 395. It’s approximately 2 hour drive from Wofford Heights. While you could go over Sherman Pass or take Chimney Peak Road, 9 Mile Canyon Road is probably the best for traveling with gear. (but then again, you guys are men who are probably down for adventurous travel) -- The Caravan will be taking 9 Mile on the way up.

It’s certainly not mandatory to cruise up with the caravan, feel free to travel on your own if you’d prefer, but rolling up together would be cool.

If you have extra room in your vehicle please let us know because there may be people riding up individually and ride sharing would be better if possible.

Location and Directions:

When you get to Kennedy Meadows you will pass the General Store and continue north towards Kennedy Meadows Campground for approximately 1 mile. The camp spot is located toward the end of the dirt airstrip. Pay attention for a sign/flag that will indicate where to turn into the side access road on your right.

Kennedy Meadows General Store Address:

96740 Beach Meadows Rd, Inyokern, Ca 93527

What to Expect:

The point of this trip is to have some fun together, get to know one another and to challenge one another to grow into the men God has called us to be in this season. We will have three meals together, a couple training and worship sessions and several hours for fun and activities.

Upon arrival we will have a quick waiver/liability release for each of you to sign for insurance purposes to protect the church and Kennedy Meadows Ranch in case of accidents.

Activities:

The campsite is just a 3 minute walk to the South Fork of the Kern River, if you are into fishing bring your poles. Fishing licenses are recommended, but it’s up to you. There is also a good swimming hole if you just want to take a dip!

There is a place to shoot some guns on site. Feel free to bring firearms, and targets you may want to shoot and your own ammunition. We will have a few guns up there for plinking around too. If you are bringing guns we will be checking them in for the evening in a locked and secure location for safety purposes and then checking them out during the designated firing times.

A few people are bringing motorcycles, atv’s and side by sides which is all good and will be fun.
Feel free to bring a bike if you want to ride during free time.

The Ranch is located adjacent to the Pacific Crest Trail if you'd like to get some hiking in. It's also a short walk to the General Store

We are providing three meals.
